Welcome to Penguins of the Apocalypse

Hello all and welcome to the Penguins of the Apocalypse site. We're here to support the Salt Lake City wargamers. The site itself takes its name from a couple groups of players who have merged together at Hastur Games and Comics over the past few years but this site is intended for anyone and everyone. What we'd like to accomplish here is to have a place where gamers can discuss their upcoming events and projects. True, we're most interested in the Wasatch Front but if you're elsewhere and you'd like to share, please do.

So get an account and start posting.  We look forward to hearing from you.

This is the BBC Home Service. And here is a Special Bulletin read by John Snay.

D-Day has come. Early this morning, the Allies began the assault on the northwestern face of Hitler's European fortress. The first official news came just after half past nine when Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Force, usually called SHAEF from its initials, issued communique number 1. This said:

"Under the command of General Eisenhower, Allied naval forces supported by strong air forces begain landing Allied armies this morning on the northern coast of France."
