Prokhorovka is over and the exhausted Red Army (the battle went late) held the field at a (suitably Russian) immense cost.At one point we had sixteen people around a 16' x 6' table that was supporting over 200 vehicles. The SS Panzer Corps managed to repel the Soviet attempts to crush their flanks but had no answer to the banzai charge of a company of T-70's that stormed a key hill in the German center, took out a battery of 88's and lead to the splitting of the two German divisions (someone rolls three straight sixes, what do you do?). Although "Das Reich" was still relatively unscathed and Soviet losses had been far the higher of the two sides the indomitable survivors of 5th Guards Tank Army managed a marginal win. Thanks to all participants. December 27: "The War of the Ring", then on to Normandy for "Operation Goodwood" in January. Pictures What is that Buzzing?
